A significant development has surfaced in a murder case from Motihari, Bihar. The police, having labeled an individual as a fugitive, initiated court proceedings for property seizure. Human rights advocate S.K. Jha, however, has revealed that the accused, Purushottam Kumar, is actually serving in the SSB. The case stems from the Suresh Singh Mastan murder in Kundwa Chainpur, where ten individuals were accused. The Motihari court has already sentenced five of the accused to life imprisonment, and proceedings against others are underway.
Despite the police repeatedly informing the court of Purushottam Kumar’s fugitive status, investigations by Advocate Jha revealed his regular employment and salary at the SSB DIG office in Muzaffarpur. This information has been shared with various authorities, including the Bihar State Human Rights Commission and the Ministry of Home Affairs, seeking action against the accused. The complainant, Harendra Singh, alleges a lack of police action, expressing frustration with the local police’s handling of the matter.
