With the Bihar assembly elections approaching, political tensions are rising, and accusations are flying between parties. RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav has directly criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Yadav, in a tweet, suggested that Modi’s strategy for winning elections would not be successful in Bihar. He wrote, ‘Modi Ji, you want victory in Bihar while giving factories to Gujarat? This Gujarati formula won’t work here.’ This statement reflects Yadav’s sustained criticism of PM Modi. He also took aim at Modi’s reaction to the alleged abuse of his mother, criticizing the BJP’s response.
Yadav questioned whether PM Modi had instructed BJP members to insult the women of Bihar. He urged people from Gujarat not to underestimate Biharis. He alleged that BJP members were abusing and manhandling teachers, women, students, pregnant women, the elderly, and journalists.
PM Modi, in a previous statement, addressed the issue of the alleged insults towards his mother. He expressed his surprise and disappointment at the incident. He emphasized that the insults were directed at all women in the country and acknowledged the pain it caused. He spoke of his mother’s role in his service to the nation. Modi noted that the sacrifice of a poor mother and her son’s suffering are beyond the comprehension of ‘princely families.’
He accused these ‘name-holders’ of being born with privilege and viewing power as a family inheritance. He criticized the RJD’s past governance, highlighting the high crime rates and the protection provided to criminals, which he claimed disproportionately affected the women of Bihar.
