Raipur, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai attended the Prakriti Parv Bhado Ekadashi Vrat – 2025 Karma Tihar program organized by the Chhattisgarh Adivasi Kanwar Samaj Yuva Prabha Raipur at the Chief Minister’s residence, Nava Raipur, on the previous day. The Chief Minister started the program by offering prayers according to the traditional rituals.
Addressing the program, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that our culture is a precious heritage of our ancestors. Maintaining this culture and tradition alive is not only our responsibility, but also a moral duty. Such festivals and traditions provide an opportunity for the society to unite, which develops the feeling of love, goodwill and harmony.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that it is a matter of joy that the Karma Tihar is being organized in the capital Raipur by the youth of Kanwar Samaj. Many types of Karma Tihar are celebrated in our tribal culture. Today is the Ekadashi Karma Tihar, which is the festival of our unmarried daughters. The purpose of this Karma Tihar is that our daughters should get a good groom and a good family life. By worshiping Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati, daughters pray for good grooms and good homes. After this, the festival of Dussehra Karma comes, in which after marriage, when the daughter comes to her maternal home for the first time, she observes a fast and celebrates the festival of Vijayadashami. Similarly, Jiyut Putrika Karma is celebrated, in which mothers wish for the long life of their sons and daughters. This is a difficult fast, in which mothers fast for twenty-four hours without eating or drinking anything.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the tribal society has made a significant contribution in the freedom struggle of the country. If we talk about Chhattisgarh, then 12 tribal revolutions took place here against the British. Our government is carving out the image of the great heroes of tribal culture in the Tribal Museum located in Nava Raipur as a model to display to the general public for awareness. Prime Minister of the country, Shri Narendra Modi ji, is being invited to the silver jubilee celebrations to be held on the completion of 25 years of the formation of Chhattisgarh state. This museum will be inaugurated by his hands.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that our government has been giving special emphasis on the empowerment of the tribal society. Former Prime Minister of the country, the venerable Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji, played an important role in the empowerment of the tribal society by forming a separate ministry of the Tribal Department almost 40 years after independence. Following the path shown by him, the present Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji is running the Dharti Aba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan and the PM Janman Yojana for the betterment and overall development of the tribal society, due to which the beneficiaries are getting the benefit of 100% schemes. Similarly, Dr. Raman Singh, who was the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh for 15 years, formed the Bastar, Surguja and Central Region Authority and worked to accelerate development.
Chief Minister Shri Sai further said that with the aim of connecting young tribals with self-employment and making them economically strong, we have made a new industrial policy, in which special concessions have been given for the Bastar and Surguja regions. Along with this, it is being ensured that tribal children do not face any difficulty in getting education. For this, educational institutions of national and international level are being established in the state itself.
Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, while addressing the program, said that our tribal culture has been a very rich and glorious tradition. We are celebrating Karma Tihar today in the discharge of this tradition. Continuous work is being done under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai to promote the protection and promotion of our culture. Under the leadership of Sai ji, the Olympics was organized in the Bastar division under the name of Bastar Pandum, which was discussed throughout India. On this occasion, Shri Kashyap extended his best wishes to all the people of Chhattisgarh on the occasion of Prakriti Parv Bhado Ekadashi Vrat Karma Tihar.

Nature has always been revered for the tribal society. Karma festival is a festival of love for nature. Our culture has been very glorious and its protection and promotion with time is necessary.
