TVS is preparing to launch the Ntorq 150, a more potent version of its established scooter, as it looks to broaden its product range. The sporty scooter is scheduled for release on Thursday, September 4th. The company has been generating anticipation through promotional visuals, including a recent audio clip showcasing the scooter’s exhaust sound, a notable feature for scooters. Anticipating the launch of the Ntorq 150, here’s a rundown of the anticipated specifications.
Design and Feature Highlights: A teaser revealed a redesigned headlamp cluster. The distinctive T-shaped housing with a quad-LED arrangement will differentiate the Ntorq 150 from the current Ntorq 125. The new model is likely to embrace a Maxi-style design instead of the previous smaller form factor. In line with competitors, the scooter is projected to run on 14-inch wheels.
As TVS’s leading internal combustion engine (ICE) scooter, the Ntorq 150 is expected to be packed with advanced technology. It may feature a fully digital TFT display with Bluetooth integration, supported by TVS SmartXonnect. This system will offer riders access to navigation, call and text notifications, service reminders, and other functions.
Anticipated Technical Specifications: The Ntorq 150 is anticipated to feature a new 150cc engine, marking TVS’s entry into the 150cc scooter market, joining competitors such as the Hero Xoom 160, Aprilia SR 175, and Yamaha Aerox 155. The engine may be derived from the 159.7cc unit used in the Apache series. This engine is estimated to produce approximately 14–15 bhp.
Expected Pricing: The TVS Ntorq 150 is expected to be priced competitively, potentially below Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom), potentially due to a more simplified engine design compared to competing models. For comparison, the Yamaha Aerox 155 is priced at Rs 1.51 lakh, while the Hero Xoom 160 costs Rs 1.49 lakh (both ex-showroom).
