‘Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra’ maintained a steady presence in its initial week at the box office. It initiated its run with ₹2.7 crore on Day 1 (Thursday), exhibiting significant growth over the weekend, gathering ₹4 crore on Day 2 (Friday), ₹7.6 crore on Day 3 (Saturday), and peaking at ₹10.1 crore on Day 4 (Sunday).
Numbers slightly declined on weekdays, with ₹7.2 crore on Day 5 (Monday). There was a recovery on Day 6 (Tuesday) with ₹7.65 crore, followed by an estimated ₹6.75 crore on Day 7 (Wednesday). The film has successfully earned a total of ₹46 crore in its first week, achieving notable success in the Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu markets.
The movie combines elements of Indian folklore, modern science fiction, and horror, acting as the first installment of the Wayfarer Cinematic Universe (WCU). The cast features Kalyani Priyadarshan, Naslen, Sandy, alongside Arun Kurian, Chandu Salimkumar, Nishanth Sagar, Raghunath Paleri, Vijayaraghavan, Nithya Shri, and Sarath Sabha.
The official streaming partner for the film is still to be disclosed by the production team. It is speculated that ‘Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra’ will be available on Netflix post its theatrical release. Previous films produced by Dulquer Salmaan, such as ‘Kurup’ and ‘Maniyarayile Ashokan,’ have also been launched on Netflix.
