Raipur 03 September 2025/ The fire that suddenly broke out in the Babylon Tower of the capital last night was brought under control without any loss of life due to the efforts and understanding of the district administration-police and especially some courageous youths. The heroes of this rescue operation were honored today by Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh and SSP Dr. Lal Ummed Singh.
It is noteworthy that as soon as the information about the fire in the Babylon Tower was received, Chief Minister Shri Sai had directed the district administration to immediately conduct relief and rescue operations. The Chief Minister had specifically instructed the administration to take special care that there should be no loss of life in this fire accident. As soon as the information about the fire in the Babylon Tower was received, Collector Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh, Superintendent of Police Dr. Lal Ummed Singh, along with the district administration and police administration, as well as the fire brigade staff, quickly reached the spot and started the rescue operation. The people trapped in the Babylon Tower were safely evacuated in time. Due to the quick action of the administration, there was no loss of life in this accident. During the rescue operation, the Chief Minister himself and the officers of the CM Secretariat kept taking information every moment.

These included Mr. Somesh Saw, Mr. Devashish Bariha, Mr. Akash Sahu, Mr. Vishal Yadav, Mr. Abhishek Sinha Mr. A. Venugopal. District Commandant Officer Shri Pushparaj Singh, along with TeliBandha Thana TI and other police personnel, also played an important role in preventing and rescuing this accident.
Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh said that these brave children have shown the culture and family values of their society that in difficult situations they do not worry about themselves but worry about others and their parents are worthy of worship who have raised their children so well, who have emerged as an example before their society. The Collector said that when the information about the incident was received last night, the SSP and I were at the airport. Since Chief Minister Shri Sai was to arrive. The Chief Minister directed us to immediately go to the spot and join the rescue operation. Immediately after this, we reached the spot. During that time, Municipal Commissioner Shri Vishwadeep, Zilla Panchayat CEO Shri Kumar Biswaranjan, ADM Shri Umashankar Bande, SDM Shri Nandkumar Chaubey, District Commandant Officer Shri Pushparaj Singh, TeliBandha Thana TI and administrative staff and SDRF team were engaged in extinguishing the fire. The rescue team took a disabled person from the fire site and took him out in their lap.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, first SDM Shri Nandkumar Chaubey and District Commandant Shri Pushparaj Singh reached the spot. Considering the circumstances, both of them reached the 7th floor with the team and explained to the people present not to panic and told them the way to get out of the stairs with caution, due to which all the people came out safely.
Shri Somesh and youths did not care for their lives, saved lives
Shri Somesh Saw said that his friend called and informed him about the arson and asked for help, he reached the spot within 10 minutes. Reaching there, he collected the fire equipment present in the basement and kept extinguishing the fire on all the floors while climbing the stairs. He told the municipal employee Mr. A. Venugopal, who was in the fire brigade, to use wet cloth as a mask for those youths. After some time, Mr. Somesh, Mr. A. Venugopal reached the place where the fire broke out and helped in taking out the trapped people with the team.
