Raipur, September 3, 2025/ Traditional festivals have special significance on the land of Chhattisgarh in Sawan-Bhado. In this sequence, a grand Teeja Milan program was organized today at the residence of Revenue Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma. On this occasion, a unique glimpse of Chhattisgarhi culture, tradition, song-music and folk dance was seen. Women, dressed in traditional attire, were making the atmosphere cheerful with the melodious tunes of folk songs.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai described Teeja Milan as a symbol of the unity and culture of the society. He said that Teeja is a festival of faith and belief for the women of Chhattisgarh. Women fast on this day for the long life of their husbands and the prosperity of their families. Our folk traditions connect the society and this is our cultural heritage. The Chief Minister further said that festivals like Kajli Ekadashi not only have religious significance, but also give a message of brotherhood and unity in the society. He described the spirit of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas as a guide in the direction of the state’s development.
Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said that the identity of Chhattisgarh comes from folk culture and festivals. The women here are not only nurturing the family and society, but are also making the state’s name bright by contributing in education, politics, service and every field. He praised the contribution of women, calling them the protectors of culture.
Revenue Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma said that today, the confluence of the colors of the state’s culture and tradition was seen in the Teeja Milan ceremony. Women fast in their maternal homes for the long life of their husbands. Teeja is a festival to refresh the memories associated with the women’s maternal home.
Traditional Chhattisgarhi dishes were served in the Teeja Milan program. Folk dance and songs made the whole atmosphere cheerful. Women kept congratulating each other on Teeja. This event became a symbol of the fact that the culture and traditions of Chhattisgarh are still strengthening the fabric of the society. Teeja is not just a festival, but a living symbol of women’s power, cultural heritage and social unity.
