Raipur, September 03, 2025 / Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Shri Ramdas Athawale arrived in Raipur today on a visit to Chhattisgarh. He held a meeting with senior officials of the Chhattisgarh government at the State Guest House, Pahun, and reviewed in detail the progress of various schemes run by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
In the meeting, Shri Athawale specifically inquired about the schemes for the benefit of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and Divyangjans. He directed the officials to ensure that the benefits of the schemes reach the eligible beneficiaries in a timely and transparent manner. Along with this, he emphasized on strengthening departmental coordination and taking concrete steps to improve the socio-economic condition of the deprived sections of the society.
The Union Minister of State said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the central government is making serious efforts towards social justice and equal opportunities. He said that work is being done to connect the weaker sections of the society with the mainstream through effective implementation of Divyangjan empowerment, scholarship schemes, skill development programs and self-employment assistance schemes. Joint Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development Department Shri Taran Prakash Sinha and Commissioner of Tribal and Scheduled Caste Welfare Department Dr. Saransh Mittar, Director of Social Welfare Smt. Roktima Yadav and senior officers were present in the meeting.
Union Minister Shri Athawale, while talking to the media, said that the priority of the central government is to ensure that the benefits of the schemes reach the person standing in the last row of the society. Continuous efforts are being made to make the schemes more effective across the country including Chhattisgarh. Better coordination with the states will improve both the reach and results of the schemes.
