The Indian automotive landscape is set for a revamp in 2026 with several new subcompact SUVs planned for launch. Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata, and Mahindra are all gearing up to release models catering to a wide range of buyers. The Maruti Fronx will introduce the brand’s hybrid technology. Hyundai will bring the Bayon, featuring a locally developed 1.2-liter TGDI petrol engine. Tata is working on the Scarlet, which may share design elements with the Sierra SUV. Mahindra plans to enter the hybrid SUV segment with the XUV 3XO, also offering an electric version.
