Following meetings with the presidents of Russia and Ukraine, Trump stated he would wait two weeks to see if any progress was made towards peace in Ukraine. This isn’t the first time the US President has set a deadline for Moscow. However, he has yet to impose sanctions on Russia.
Trump announced on August 21st, “We will know within two weeks whether there will be peace in Ukraine or not. After that, we may have to take a different path.” He didn’t elaborate on the implications, but Russia has continued its attacks on Ukraine. Despite the two-week deadline passing, Trump has not taken any action against Russia.
