Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister, MK Stalin, is currently in Germany as part of an official visit focused on attracting industrial investment. A highlight of his trip was a visit to Classic Remise Düsseldorf, a renowned center for vintage cars.
Stalin shared his experience, describing the visit as akin to traveling back in time. He remarked that being surrounded by the classic automobiles felt like stepping into history. He highlighted the significance of the visit, noting the strong connection between Chennai, known as the ‘Detroit of India,’ and the global automotive industry.
The CM’s visit to Germany has already yielded significant results, with the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with German companies. These agreements represent investments exceeding 3,200 crore rupees, promising around 6,000 new jobs in Tamil Nadu.
One major investment includes a 2,000 crore rupees plant by Knorr-Bremse, a leading braking systems company, creating 3,500 jobs. This plant will bolster Tamil Nadu’s railway components and advanced engineering sectors.
Furthermore, the Nordex Group, a key wind turbine manufacturer, will expand its operations in Tamil Nadu with a 1,000 crore rupees investment, resulting in 2,500 new jobs.
The Chief Minister’s 8-day tour includes visits to both Germany and the United Kingdom, with the primary goal of securing industrial investment for the state.
