Effective September 1, Oil Marketing Companies have implemented a price reduction of Rs 51.50 on commercial 19 kg Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders. Domestic 14.2 kg cylinder prices remain unchanged. In Delhi, the retail price for a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder will be Rs 1580.
The retail price of a 19 kg LPG commercial cylinder in Delhi will be Rs 1,580, a decrease from Rs 1,631.50. Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai will see revised commercial LPG prices of Rs 1,684, Rs 1,531.5, and Rs 1,738, respectively, as per the Indian Oil Corporation. The prices for 14.2 kg cylinders have not changed since April 8.
A 14.2 kg cylinder costs Rs 853 in Delhi. Chennai, Kolkata, and Mumbai prices are Rs 868.50, Rs 879, and Rs 852.50, respectively, based on Indian Oil Corporation data. This price reduction will assist small businesses in Delhi, such as shops, hotels, and food vendors, who use these cylinders daily.
In August, Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri highlighted the government’s decision to provide Rs 30,000 crores to oil companies in 12 installments, which has maintained stable LPG prices. The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 8, approved this compensation to oil companies to offset global market uncertainties.
