In Thane, a 23-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide during a video call with her boyfriend on August 28. The incident occurred in the Titwala area. Police have detained the boyfriend for interrogation and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death. The victim and her boyfriend reportedly met on Instagram and began a relationship. The woman’s family has accused the boyfriend of defrauding other women in a similar manner. Police sources revealed that the accused had obtained the woman’s jewelry under false pretenses and subsequently threatened to leak private videos of her when she requested the return of her belongings. The woman, unable to deal with the harassment, ended her life. An autopsy was not performed before cremation, and no FIR has been registered. In a separate incident, Delhi Police conducted an anti-narcotics operation, leading to the arrest of Afsana and two other individuals. A total of 1,012 grams of heroin was seized during the operation. Afsana was initially arrested in the Bhalswa Dairy area with 300 grams of heroin, and subsequent arrests of suppliers Narender and Jyoti aka Manshi yielded an additional 712 grams. Cases under the NDPS Act are ongoing.
