The Punjab government implemented a swift response to the floods, evacuating 4,711 people to safer locations in the last day. The rescued individuals include residents from Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Moga, Tarn Taran, Barnala, and Fazilka. Overall, 11,330 people have been rescued from nine districts. These include 2,819 from Ferozepur, 1,052 from Hoshiarpur, 240 from Kapurthala, 4,771 from Gurdaspur, 24 from Moga, 1,100 from Pathankot, 60 from Tarn Taran, 25 from Barnala, and 1,239 from Fazilka. Of the 87 relief camps established, 77 are currently active, providing shelter to 4,729 people. Relief efforts are ongoing, with essential supplies being distributed. The NDRF, SDRF, Punjab Police, and Army are collaborating, supported by local communities. The floods have affected numerous villages across various districts. The state is facing substantial financial losses due to damage to crops and livestock, with thousands of hectares of farmland impacted in several districts.
