The Asia Cup 2025 is approaching, set to begin on September 9th and conclude on September 28th. Ahead of the tournament, the BCCI made a significant announcement: the match timings have been changed.
In a recent development, 18 out of the 19 matches, including the highly anticipated final, will now start at 6:30 PM local time, which is 30 minutes later than previously scheduled. This means matches originally scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM IST will now start at 8:00 PM IST, including the prominent India vs Pakistan match.
This schedule change was implemented because of the intense heat expected during September across much of the subcontinent, with temperatures soaring as high as 40°C. The hot conditions raised concerns for players and the quality of the matches. As a result, the BCCI requested a delay in match timings, and the broadcasters agreed.
India’s matches in both the group stage and any potential knockout stages will now follow the new timing, starting at 8:00 PM IST. This shift aims to provide fans with a more convenient and enjoyable viewing experience.
The only match not affected by the change is the UAE vs. Oman match, set for September 15th at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The timing modifications are designed to protect players from the hottest parts of the day and offer viewers prime-time cricket.
