A violent clash occurred in Patna, Bihar, between supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress party on Friday. The unrest was sparked by claims of offensive comments directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his deceased mother during an INDIA bloc rally in Darbhanga. The BJP organized a protest outside the Congress office in Patna, leading to stone-pelting. Bihar Minister Nitin Nabin, representing the BJP, asserted that the public would give a significant response to the Congress, portraying it as an insult to motherhood. Ashutosh, a Congress worker, criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, suggesting government involvement in the confrontation. Darbhanga Police arrested a suspect accused of making abusive comments against PM Modi, according to Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Chaudhary. The incident followed the circulation of a video on the internet in which the accused allegedly made offensive remarks about the Prime Minister during an INDIA bloc event. BJP leaders have criticized the Opposition’s ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ for the use of derogatory language. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath denounced the comments, describing them as an insult to the Indian populace. Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav also condemned the remarks, calling for an apology from the Congress and RJD. The Opposition responded by accusing the BJP of raising unrelated issues to divert attention from other issues.
