The Duleep Trophy 2025 quarterfinals commenced on August 28th. North East Zone chose to field after winning the toss, a decision that backfired as Central Zone batsmen dominated. Batting at number four, captain Rajat Patidar began scoring quickly and forged a substantial partnership with 21-year-old batsman Danish Malewar. Patidar reached his century in 80 balls, including 18 fours and 2 sixes. By the tea break, he was at 111 runs off 85 balls, with 20 fours and 2 sixes. At the other end, Danish Malewar was unbeaten at 132 off 171 balls, with 25 fours. These impressive performances helped Central Zone reach 341 runs for the loss of one wicket by tea. This was Patidar’s first match after IPL 2025.
