Maruti Suzuki has commenced production of the e-Vitara, its pioneering electric vehicle. This electric SUV represents a significant step for both Maruti Suzuki and Suzuki Motor Corporation. At a ceremony in Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated the e-Vitara’s roll-out. The company plans to export the electric SUV to more than 100 countries.
The e-Vitara is slated for an Indian launch on September 3rd. This launch positions Maruti Suzuki within a segment currently led by Tata Motors, MG, and Mahindra. Despite being a late entrant, Maruti Suzuki aims to achieve a prominent market position, with the e-Vitara as a core element of this strategy. This Indian-made SUV is slated for distribution across almost all continents globally, with the exception of the Arctic and Antarctic regions. This endeavor signifies a pivotal moment for the Indian automotive sector and Maruti Suzuki’s global expansion.
