Police are investigating a threat to bomb Ministers Sudivya Kumar and Dr. Irfan Ansari, made in a video posted on social media. The video features a young man making the threats.
The individual in the video, identifying himself as Ankit Kumar Mishra of Giridih, claimed he would bomb the two ministers within a day. He alleged he was targeted with threats of religious conversion and was involved in a land dispute where he was assaulted. He is demanding an apology from the alleged perpetrators and warned of serious repercussions. The man also claimed associations with a prominent gangster.
The video also referenced Jamui, Bihar, and that the individual was in attendance at an NDA conference. He stated that he lacked family support and had written a disclaimer absolving his family of any involvement. He repeatedly stated that he would only find peace after bombing the ministers.
Giridih police are actively involved in the investigation, with Inspector Shyam Kishore Mahto of Mufassil Police Station confirming the video and stating that the police are searching for the individual, whose location is traced to Bihar.
Minister Sudivya Kumar Sonu, who was in Koderma, expressed his unfamiliarity with the situation. He revealed that he had received information about the video from people who cared about him and said he didn’t know much about it, suggesting the police should investigate its authenticity. The minister speculated that the video may be a fabrication, possibly generated by artificial intelligence, and called for an investigation into the matter.
