WhatsApp is constantly working to enhance user experience, and the latest innovation focuses on improving the calling feature. A new function is being rolled out that allows users to leave a voicemail message directly after a missed WhatsApp call. This mirrors the functionality of traditional voicemail systems, but integrates directly within the WhatsApp application.
How the Voicemail Feature Operates:
When you initiate a WhatsApp call and the recipient doesn’t answer, the ‘Leave Voicemail’ option will be presented on your screen. Tapping this option enables you to record a brief voice message. This message will be transmitted in the same way as a standard audio message, and the recipient can listen to it upon opening the app.
Key Benefits of the Feature:
Previously, missing a call required composing a text message to convey the information. Now, a quick voicemail can be sent with a single tap, providing a more convenient way to communicate. This is especially beneficial when the call’s content is time-sensitive or crucial, yet the recipient is unavailable.
The feature is currently in beta testing and will soon be available on both iOS and Android platforms. If the feature isn’t yet available on your device, it should become accessible with future updates.
Additional WhatsApp Updates
WhatsApp has also updated its beta version to allow users to share statuses directly from third-party apps. This eliminates the need for a separate update process and is initially available for iOS beta users before a wider rollout.
