Governor Shri Ramen Deka participated in the two-day Sahkar National Weaver’s Conference held in Raipur on Sunday. He said that there is a need to pay special attention to research and development in the field of cooperation. He urged the weavers to adopt new technologies in products as per the time. Bring changes in the design of products according to demand.
The Governor said that the United Nations has declared the year 2025 as the International Year of Cooperatives. Its objective is not only to promote cooperation, but also to lay the foundation of a prosperous, just and self-reliant world through it. This feeling inspires us to move forward with the mantra of ‘Prosperity through Cooperation’ and take this campaign to every home, every person.
He said that Chhattisgarh has given a new perspective to the country by doing many innovations in the field of cooperation. The work of making PACS committees multi-purpose is an important step in this direction. So far, 2058 PACS committees have been converted into M-PACS in the state and facilities like Common Service Center have also been made available in them. Along with this, the process of formation of 532 new multi-purpose PACS committees is going on. Significant progress has also been made in the fields of fisheries, milk and minor forest produce, which reflects our commitment to the expansion of cooperation.
The Governor said that the work of handloom and weaving is a symbol of our country’s cultural identity and indigenous pride. He said that by adding new mediums and techniques for marketing along with cooperation, it will help in moving forward. He cited many examples and said that many companies and goods had to go out of the market for not adopting new technologies and not making changes in the design in time. He said that weavers should move towards e-commerce and digital platforms for the popularity and sale of their products.
