Authorities in Ranchi have made a significant seizure of counterfeit currency, confiscating approximately two crore rupees in fake notes from a bus at the New Market bus stand. The Sukhdevnagar police station is investigating the incident and has taken two suspects into custody.
The raid was executed under the direction of Chandan Sinha, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Ranchi, and led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Prakash Soe. The police acted upon intelligence suggesting the transportation of a substantial amount of counterfeit money via a bus originating from Patna.
Following the SSP’s instructions, DSP Prakash Soe assembled a team that raided the bus stand. The team found the counterfeit currency concealed in a box on the bus. Subsequent investigations and raids are underway, based on information gathered from those arrested. A car has also been impounded as part of the investigation.
