Amidst reported attempts by Donald Trump to organize a meeting, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has confirmed that no meeting is scheduled between Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky. Lavrov’s comments, made during an interview, directly contradict Trump’s earlier statements about a potential summit. Trump had claimed to have contacted both leaders, setting the stage for a meeting followed by a trilateral discussion. However, Lavrov clarified that while Putin is willing to meet with Zelensky, the necessary agenda for such a meeting is not yet finalized. He also mentioned that the US has certain preconditions which include Ukraine not joining NATO and discussing territorial issues, but these preconditions were rejected by Zelensky.
