BMW Group India has achieved a significant milestone by delivering 5,000 electric vehicles, solidifying its position in the premium EV market in India. The company has marked this achievement with the opening of a high-power charging corridor stretching 4,000 kilometers from Jammu to Madurai. This corridor includes charging stations located every 300 kilometers on major national highways and in major cities such as Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, and Madurai. The charging stations, developed in collaboration with Statiq and ZION, provide charging capacities from 120 kW to 720 kW. They are thoughtfully placed near convenient locations like cafes, restaurants, and public spaces. The charging corridor is accessible to all electric vehicle owners, irrespective of their brand.
In the first six months of 2025, BMW and MINI experienced a 234% year-over-year growth, selling 1,322 electric vehicles. Electric vehicles now account for 18% of BMW Group India’s overall sales, with the BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase being the best-selling model, followed by the BMW i7. The company provides its customers with access to over 6,000 charging points across India. The myBMW app facilitates easy location and activation of these charging points, displaying real-time charger status and providing filtering options. Additionally, BMW has introduced a unique charging concierge service.
