Renault India has teased the upcoming facelift of its Kiger SUV, confirming its launch on August 24th. This update is particularly notable as it’s the first major refresh for the Kiger since its 2021 debut, coinciding with a booming compact SUV segment and increased competition. The new Kiger, much like the recent Nissan Magnite update from October 2024, is expected to include feature enhancements and aesthetic modifications.
When it hits the market, the Kiger facelift will go head-to-head with established rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Nissan Magnite. Pricing is anticipated to be slightly elevated compared to the existing model, potentially starting around ₹6.2 lakh and reaching up to ₹11.5 lakh for the top-spec variant.
The teaser suggests Renault’s focus on development. The refreshed Kiger will likely boast a new lime green exterior color, alongside Renault’s updated 2D diamond logo on the front fascia. It is also anticipated to feature a revised grille design, redesigned bumpers, and slimmer headlamps with new LED DRLs, similar to those found in the Nissan Magnite. The rear will likely sport new C-shaped tail lamps with updated LED internals, contributing to a more contemporary appearance.
The engine options for the new Kiger are expected to remain consistent, with both a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine on offer. These will be paired with manual, AMT, and CVT transmission choices. A CNG variant will also be available through dealer installations. Interior updates are anticipated, including the use of soft-touch materials, new upholstery schemes, and minor adjustments to the dashboard layout. Furthermore, the vehicle may incorporate an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital driver display, wireless charging capabilities, and automatic climate control. Six airbags are also anticipated.
