A new path has opened for special research and investigation on the tribes residing in the Bastar and Surguja regions of Chhattisgarh. The Guru Ghasidas Central University and the Tribal Research & Knowledge Centre (TRKC) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to facilitate this. The agreement will allow students to conduct advanced research on the tribes’ traditions, culture, and socio-economic aspects. Mr. Rajiv Sharma, the state in-charge for TRKC, explained that TRKC is a significant institution promoting research on tribal subjects in various universities and colleges across the country. The research will unveil lesser-known aspects of tribal life, civilization, and culture, providing valuable information to the general public. These studies will also provide insights into the social organizations, economics, governance, rural entrepreneurship, sustainable development, and innovations of the tribes of Surguja and Bastar.
