The Samsung A17 5G is anticipated to make its debut in India shortly. Prior to its official release, details about the potential price point for the Indian variant have surfaced. Reports suggest the phone might be offered in three different configurations. The device was first unveiled in major European markets on August 6, available in three color choices: Black, Blue, and Grey. The smartphone uses Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1330 SoC, along with the Mali-G68 MP2 GPU.
Information indicates that the A17 in India could start at roughly Rs. 18,999 for the basic model, featuring 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The models with 8GB RAM along with 128GB and 256GB storage are projected to be priced at Rs. 20,499 and Rs. 23,499, respectively. These price estimations suggest that the company is preparing to launch the phone soon in the Indian market.
Based on the European launch price of around EUR 239, the phone is predicted to be priced at about Rs. 24,393 for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration.
If the Indian version mirrors the specifications of the European model, it will include a 6.7-inch Infinity-U Super AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. It will also come with an IP54 rating, offering resistance to dust and splashes. The device will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 1330 chipset, supported by the Mali-G68 MP2 GPU, alongside up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
The phone could potentially incorporate a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. In terms of photography, it may feature a dual rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel macro lens. The front camera is expected to have a 13MP sensor. The Galaxy A17 5G will support 5G, Bluetooth 5.3, and USB Type-C. It is anticipated to have a 5,000mAh battery and 25W wired charging.
Mid-range phones are increasingly incorporating features usually seen in flagship models. A recent competitor, the Realme P4 PRO, offers better features and specifications at a similar price point. The larger 7000 mAh battery combined with a 120 fps refresh rate gives the P4 Pro an edge over the A17 5G.
