Junior NTR’s involvement in ‘War 2’ was a major move by YRF to boost his South Indian appeal. However, the film’s performance has been disappointing, with a budget of ₹400 crore and collections failing to reach ₹200 crore in a week. This has led to significant criticism regarding the film’s story and NTR’s performance. While ‘War 2’ struggles, NTR is actively working on his next film, ‘Dragon,’ in collaboration with Prashanth Neel.
A substantial ₹15 crore has been allocated for a massive set designed to emulate a home environment, essential for the film’s narrative and NTR’s character. The set’s design includes meticulous details like specific color schemes and handcrafted items. Prashanth Neel recently wrapped up a shooting schedule in Kumta, utilizing coastal backdrops between Mumbai and Mangalore for key scenes. Additional sets are being built in Ramoji Film City. ‘Dragon’ is envisioned as a pan-India project, showcasing NTR in action. The film is scheduled for release in 2026. NTR’s previous films, including ‘Devra,’ have also faced a lukewarm reception.
