The Outer Delhi Warriors secured a dominant seven-wicket victory against the North Delhi Strikers in a high-scoring Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 encounter at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. This win was significant for the Warriors, giving them a crucial two points in the tournament.
The North Delhi Strikers, after choosing to bat first, managed to reach 193/6 in their 20 overs, overcoming an initial setback. Vaibhav Kandpal’s impressive 73 off 40 balls, combining strategic batting with clean hitting, anchored the innings. Support came from Arjun Rapria (33 off 19) and Gagan Vats, who provided a quick 18 off 4 balls, though they couldn’t quite reach the 200-run mark.
Siddhant Sharma’s bowling performance played a key role for the Warriors, with figures of 3 for 24 from four overs. His ability to take wickets disrupted the Strikers’ partnerships, hindering their efforts to score freely in the late overs.
In pursuit of a target of 194, the Warriors faced an early setback when Sanat Sangwan was dismissed for a duck by Harshit Rana. However, Priyansh Arya and Rishabh Drall quickly responded, building a strong 67-run partnership for the second wicket. Drall contributed a vital 38 from 25 balls before being caught.
Arya was the standout performer, scoring a rapid 76 off just 30 deliveries. His aggressive style dismantled the Strikers’ bowling strategy, reducing the required run rate effectively. Despite being caught by Sarthak Ranjan off Vikas Dixit, his impactful innings laid the groundwork for the Warriors’ victory.
Keshav Dabas and Dhruv Singh finished the job with calm efficiency. Dabas remained unbeaten on 46 off 35 balls, while Dhruv contributed a brisk 26 off 17 balls, allowing the Warriors to complete the chase within 18 overs.
