Raipur, Under the Chhattisgarh Silver Jubilee, the 25th meeting of the State Level Geological Program Board is being organized by the Department of Mineral Resources on August 21 in Raipur, the capital. The meeting will be chaired by Mr. P. Dayanand, Secretary to the Department of Mineral Resources and the Chief Minister. The meeting will commence at 10:30 am in the Convention Hall of the New Vishram Bhawan, Civil Line, Raipur. Representatives from various departments of the state government and the central government, technical institutions, and private institutions will participate in this event.
Officials of the Mineral Resources Department said that the main objective of the meeting is to provide a new direction to mineral policies while establishing coordination, so that continuous and systematic exploration of minerals can be done. This will promote coordination and research with government institutions through the participation of private institutions. Apart from this, in this meeting, the work done for the exploration of minerals during the year 2024-25 in the state will be discussed and the program related to the exploration of minerals in the year 2025-26 will be finalized, so that new resources can be identified along with an increase in revenue.
In the meeting, a total of 11 exploration projects proposed by the Directorate of Geology and Mining in the year 2025-26 and 29 exploration projects of the Geological Survey of India will be discussed. These projects mainly include exploration work of minerals like lithium, gold, glauconite, lepidolite, strategic and critical minerals, phosphorite, fluorite, bauxite, limestone, and iron ore. The progress of these projects and the effective implementation of future plans will also be discussed in the meeting.
