Authorities are investigating a suspected baby swap at SKMCH in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, following a complaint from a family. Chanchala Kumari delivered a baby at the hospital and was initially told it was a boy. The family was overjoyed, but their happiness turned to shock when they found out they had a baby girl after returning home. They have accused the hospital staff of switching the babies.
SDPO Vineeta Sinha visited the hospital to conduct inquiries. Nursing staff on the night shift, including Baby Kumari, Rajvanti Kumari, and Chandramani Kumar, were questioned. They stated that several mothers gave birth around the same time on Monday night, with some delivering boys and others girls. The authorities are exploring the possibility of a mix-up during this period.
