With the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar, the political landscape is heating up. The opposition’s Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) is conducting a state-wide ‘Yatra’ (journey), alleging ‘vote theft.’ In response, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is preparing to intensify its election efforts. The NDA’s plan involves a visit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Gaya on August 22, followed by the launch of the NDA’s election campaign across Bihar starting August 23.
The NDA’s strategy includes the formation of 14 teams, each comprising seven leaders, to spearhead the campaign. These teams will be composed of leaders from all NDA constituent parties and will initially cover 84 constituencies across the first two phases of the campaign.
The election campaign, which will run in two phases from August 23 to August 30, will see each team visiting six assembly constituencies over a six-day period. The teams will include Union Ministers, Members of Parliament, State Ministers, and senior leaders from the BJP, JDU, LJP, HAM-S, and RLM.
The first team will be led by JDU Working President Sanjay Jha. Other key figures in the teams include Union Ministers Giriraj Singh, Jitan Ram Manjhi, Nityanand Rai, Satish Chandra Dubey, and Ramnath Thakur. Additionally, Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, along with state presidents of all NDA parties and other prominent leaders, will participate.
Before the election, these leaders will conduct a joint meeting of NDA workers at the assembly level to ensure effective coordination. They will also hold joint press conferences to highlight the accomplishments of the NDA government at both the central and state levels.
The BJP is planning to activate the party at the assembly level through a worker’s conference. The conference will begin on August 23, following the Prime Minister’s rally in Gaya on August 22. This strategic move is aimed at countering the opposition’s ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra,’ which accuses the central government of vote theft. The NDA aims to counter these allegations and mobilize party workers at the grassroots level.
