The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has appointed Kuldeep Dwivedi, a distinguished Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from the Jharkhand cadre, as its Joint Director. The Department of Personnel and Training issued the relevant notification on Tuesday. Dwivedi, who is a 2005-batch IPS officer, will hold the position until January 17, 2026, or until the completion of his five-year deputation, or until further notice. In a parallel development, C. Venkat Subba Reddy, an IPS officer of the 2007 batch from the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, currently serving as DIG, CBI, has also been designated as a Joint Director within the CBI. Reddy’s term is set to conclude on October 29, 2029, coinciding with the end of his five-year deputation, or until further directives. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has sanctioned the appointments of both senior IPS officers to the role of Joint Director at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), as per the notification released by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
