Raipur, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai said that the State Capital Region will benefit the entire region including Raipur, Durg, Bhilai and Rajnandgaon. This will speed up development works and expand urban amenities. He said that all the promises of the ongoing Atal Vishwas Patra in the elections of urban bodies will be fulfilled one by one.
Chief Minister Shri Sai was addressing the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony of development works worth Rs 241.50 crore for the municipal corporation area in Bhilai today. On this occasion, he announced Rs 20 crore for the new office building of Bhilai Municipal Corporation.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the government is providing full support for the development of urban areas. Urban amenities are being rapidly expanded. He said that the Department of Good Governance and Convergence has been constituted in the state to ensure good governance and accountability. Administration is being made digital and transparent throughout the state, which is directly benefiting the citizens. He informed that Atal Digital Seva Kendras have been started in 1460 gram panchayats of the state. In the next six months, 5 thousand more panchayats will be added to this scheme. Atal Digital Seva Kendras will be started in all the gram panchayats of Chhattisgarh on April 24, 2026, Panchayati Raj Day.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that our government has fulfilled most of the guarantees of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in the last 20 months. To ensure the economic progress of the farmers, 21 quintals of paddy has been purchased per acre and payment has been ensured at the rate of Rs 3100 per quintal. Women are being given financial assistance of one thousand rupees per month under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, benefiting more than 70 lakh women. Under the Deendayal Upadhyay Landless Agricultural Laborers Scheme, landless agricultural laborers are being given financial assistance of Rs 10,000 annually. Under the Ramlala Darshan Yojana, more than 22 thousand devotees have visited Ayodhya so far.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao said that after the formation of the government in the state, Rs 7,000 crore has been sanctioned for the development of all urban bodies in the last one year. Under the Nagarothan Yojana, funds are being given for planned and well-planned development in urban bodies. In the last 18 months, Rs 470 crore has been sanctioned for development works for the Municipal Corporation Bhilai alone. He said that the government is committed to making the cities clean and beautiful. The result of this is that seven urban bodies of the state have received the National Sanitation Award for the first time. At the same time, 58 cities of Chhattisgarh have been awarded in cities with a population of less than 20 thousand.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai presented the shield to Councilor Smt. Smriti Dodke for the Swachhta Ward. Home entry certificates were given to 9 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, certificates were given to three beneficiaries of the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, motorized tricycles and wheelchairs were provided to the disabled. Cheques of funds were given to women self-help groups for economic activities and a certificate was given to the Radharani Women Self-Help Group under the Women for Tree scheme.
Vaishali Nagar MLA Shri Rikesh Sen and Mayor of the Municipal Corporation Shri Neeraj Pal also addressed the program. On this occasion, MLA Shri Lalit Chandrakar, former Speaker of the Assembly Shri Premprakash Pandey, former Minister Smt. Ramshila Sahu and former MLA Shri Labhchand Bafna along with many public representatives and a large number of common citizens were present.
