A Deputy Collector in Chhattisgarh’s Balod district is now under investigation after a female constable filed a rape complaint at the Daundi police station. Authorities have initiated legal proceedings following the woman’s report. The police are expected to make an arrest of the Deputy Collector soon.
The accused, Dilip Uike, is currently posted in Bijapur district but hails from Avari village in the Daundi block. The female constable from the CAF accused him of exploitation, alleging that he had been using the pretense of marriage to engage in sexual relations with her for approximately one year. When the Deputy Collector refused to marry her, the woman reported the matter to the Daundi police.
Following the complaint, the police registered an FIR and are preparing to take further action. The investigation is ongoing.
Notably, Deputy Collector Uike was involved in a fatal car accident about eight months prior. A man was killed on the spot when Uike’s car collided with another vehicle on the Daundi Kachhe road. Additionally, Uike was removed from his position as in-charge CEO of the Bhopalpatnam Janpad by the Bijapur Collector three months ago, after a period of over one and a half years marked by controversy.
ASP Monika Thakur provided confirmation that the FIR was filed by the female constable, detailing the allegations of sexual relations under the false promise of marriage. Authorities are actively investigating the case.
