Team India’s head coach, Gautam Gambhir, is admired for his mindset and his capacity to motivate players. He recently displayed this with Varun Chakravarthy, who shared the encouraging words he received from Gambhir. Just before the Asia Cup, Varun Chakravarthy, during an interview, portrayed Gautam Gambhir as a warrior and disclosed that Gambhir expressed his complete faith in him and assured him of his place in his plans.
Varun Chakravarthy, speaking to Revsportz, stated, ‘Gautam Gambhir significantly aided my comeback. He has always boosted my confidence. We don’t have long conversations, but he has always given me confidence. He said that even if anyone ignores you, I will always include you in my plans. He motivated me in this way. His mindset is completely like a fighter. His approach benefited KKR and helped in the Champions Trophy as well.’
Chakravarthy also mentioned that the Asia Cup would offer excellent rest to all the white-ball cricketers, which would be beneficial. He said, ‘The Asia Cup is approaching. White-ball players have had good rest after the IPL. I participated in TNPL, but despite that, I got a month’s rest. I worked on my strength and conditioning. I worked on bowling and batting as well. Feeling very good because I spent time with my child, wife, and parents.’ Varun Chakravarthy will be seen showcasing his skills in the Asia Cup. The tournament starts on September 9th in the UAE. India’s first match will be against the UAE on September 10th. On September 14th, they will face Pakistan.
