Tata is gearing up to reintroduce the Sierra SUV in the Indian market, a vehicle that resonated with consumers in the 1990s. The car was previewed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo earlier this year. Recent sightings during testing reveal details of its upscale interior. While an official launch date is pending, anticipation points toward a Diwali 2025 release for the Tata Sierra.
Tata Sierra: Powertrain
The Sierra is expected to offer both 1.5-liter petrol and diesel engine options, potentially drawing from the same 2.0-liter Multijet engine family as the Tata Nexon or Harrier. Electric variants will provide multiple battery configurations. Furthermore, the ‘Quad Wheel Drive’ technology introduced in the new Harrier EV might also be incorporated in the top-tier models of the Tata Sierra.
Tata Sierra: Interior and Features
Reports suggest a robust interior design for the car, including a digital driver’s display and a large central touchscreen for infotainment. The design includes three screens of approximately 12.3 inches each with a floating design, similar to the concept shown at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Features may also include a floating center console, a panoramic sunroof, a four-spoke steering wheel, and touch-based AC controls.
Tata Sierra: Exterior
Beyond the screens, the dashboard design includes a dual-tone finish, soft-touch materials, and ambient lighting extending across the front. The steering wheel has been redesigned with a four-spoke configuration, including an illuminated brand logo at its center. The exterior updates introduce a refreshed, boxy appearance. Testing images show a full-width LED strip, sequential LED turn indicators, and a robust bumper design.
