*Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai extended greetings to the people of the state on Janmashtami, performed the tradition of Dahi-Handi*
Raipur, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai participated in the Janmashtami festival and Dahi-Handi competition organized in Gudhiyari, Raipur. He extended his best wishes and greetings to the people of the state on Shri Krishna Janmashtami and wished for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of the people of the state from Lord Shri Krishna.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai symbolically broke the Dahi-Handi and performed the tradition of the festival and also gave sweets to the children dressed as Radha-Krishna, expressing his affection.
In his address, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that we are all fortunate that we are residents of a holy state like Chhattisgarh, which is the maternal home of Lord Shri Ram and the birthplace of Mata Kaushalya. He appealed to the present devotees to make continuous efforts to make Sanatan culture more powerful and prosperous. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the state government is committed to the protection and promotion of religious and cultural heritage. He said that the government is working for the overall development of all the major Shaktipeeths and pilgrimage sites of the state including Bhoramdev temple. Along with this, the facility of darshan of various holy places is also being provided to the devotees through Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana and Chief Minister’s Pilgrimage Darshan Yojana.
Chief Minister Shri Sai heartily congratulated the organizer Shri Basant Agarwal and his team for the successful conduct of this grand event. In the program, MLA Shri Kiran Dev and Shri Pawan Sai also addressed the devotees and extended their best wishes for the auspicious festival of Janmashtami. On this occasion, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Civil Supplies Corporation Shri Sanjay Srivastava, Mayor Smt. Meenal Choubey, Shri Rajiv Lochan Maharaj, other public representatives and a large number of devotees were present.
