The AIMPLB has drawn attention to several legal and constitutional flaws in the Umeed portal. The Board argues that the Waqf Act 2025 is already under review by the Supreme Court and has been rejected by Muslims, opposition parties, human rights organizations, civil society, and other minority communities, including Sikhs and Christians. The petition requests the Supreme Court to stay the operation of the portal or withdraw the notification until the court decides on the validity of the Waqf Act 2025. Previously, the AIMPLB had urged people to switch off lights in their homes, offices, and commercial establishments for 15 minutes at 9 PM to protest against the amendments made in the Waqf law.
