The festive season is on the horizon, and car manufacturers are gearing up to launch new products in the coming months. Maruti Suzuki and Renault India are planning to launch a new mid-size SUV and an updated Kiger, on September 3 and August 24, 2025, respectively. The models, representing distinct SUV categories, are expected to make a significant impact. The forthcoming Maruti SUV, known as the Maruti Escudo, will introduce several first-time features for a Maruti vehicle in India. Simultaneously, the updated Kiger is poised to be one of the most economical subcompact SUVs in the market. The Renault Kiger subcompact SUV will receive a mid-life update. Teasers showcase the updated model with C-shaped taillamps, a sporty rear bumper, and a shark fin antenna. The 2025 Renault Kiger is expected to feature a revamped front fascia, incorporating Renault’s new logo and a redesigned grille. Interior upgrades are also anticipated. The Kiger facelift will continue with the existing 1.0-liter naturally aspirated and 1.0-liter turbo petrol engines, delivering 72PS and 100PS of power, respectively. It will be available with both manual and automatic transmissions. A CNG kit will also be offered as a retrofit option. Maruti Suzuki has not yet officially revealed the specifics of the upcoming model slated for a September 3, 2025 release. The mid-size SUV, the Maruti Escudo, will feature Dolby Atmos audio technology and Level-2 ADAS. It will also be equipped with a 4WD (Four-Wheel Drive) system. The Escudo’s powertrain, platform, features, and design are based on the Grand Vitara, and will offer three engine options: a 1.5-liter petrol, a 1.5-liter strong hybrid, and a CNG variant. Expect minor cosmetic adjustments. Reports indicate the Escudo will be slightly larger than the Grand Vitara with increased boot space.
