Google has officially announced the launch of its Pixel 10 series at the upcoming Made by Google event in New York on August 20th. This launch marks a significant event for tech enthusiasts, with the new smartphone lineup promising substantial upgrades.
The series is expected to include several models, such as the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 XL, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold, according to various leaks and reports. While the design is not expected to undergo major revisions, it is likely to maintain a similar aesthetic to previous models.
Camera enhancements are a key focus. The standard Pixel 10 is rumored to feature a triple camera setup, including a telephoto lens, a feature previously reserved for the Pro models. It’s worth noting that the primary sensor might be slightly smaller than the Pixel 9’s, potentially affecting low-light performance. Meanwhile, the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL are expected to retain the camera system found in earlier Pro models.
AI integration will play a crucial role, with Google introducing new AI tools like Speak-to-Tweak for voice-activated photo editing, Sketch-to-Image to create images from drawings, and the new Pixel Sense virtual assistant. The Camera Coach feature will also be present, offering guidance on optimal angles and lighting during photography.
The Pixel 10 series will feature the new Tensor G5 chipset, built by TSMC on a 3nm process. This shift from Samsung is anticipated to improve both performance and thermal management.
Battery improvements and Qi2 magnetic wireless charging are also expected. The phones may be slightly larger and heavier due to a larger battery and the inclusion of Qi2 magnetic wireless charging, which hasn’t been available in previous Pixel models.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is anticipated to be the world’s first IP68-rated dust-resistant foldable phone.
New color options are also expected, with the Pixel 10 offering Indigo, Frost, and Limoncello, while the Pro models will feature Porcelain, Jade, and Moonstone. The overall focus of the Pixel 10 series is on advancements in camera technology, AI features, battery life, and wireless charging. The August 20th launch is highly anticipated.
