Hyundai Motor India is set to introduce significant updates to two of its popular car models, the Verna and Exter, by 2026. This is part of a broader strategy to launch 26 new models in the Indian market by 2030, encompassing ICE, electric, and hybrid vehicles. The company aims to become the second-largest automotive manufacturer in India, competing with key players like Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors.
The 2026 updates include a facelift for the Verna and Exter models. These facelifts are expected to focus on cosmetic and feature enhancements while retaining the existing engine options. The Verna and Exter updates are part of Hyundai’s broader product strategy, which includes new models such as the Hyundai Bayon compact crossover and Exter EV.
The 2026 Hyundai Verna facelift is anticipated to feature a redesigned front fascia, incorporating new headlamps, taillamps, and updated bumpers. Interior upgrades are also expected, including new upholstery and additional safety features, with subtle revisions to the exterior design.
The Verna currently offers a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with 115 bhp and a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine with 160 bhp. The base model price starts from Rs 11.07 lakh, and the top-end trim is available for Rs 17.58 lakh (ex-showroom). The Exter is powered by a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 83 hp and 114 Nm of torque, and is also offered in a CNG variant. The Exter’s price ranges from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10.51 lakh (ex-showroom). Both models are likely to experience a price increase after the 2026 updates.
