*Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai inaugurated the Chhattisgarh Silver Jubilee Festival from Muktakashi Manch – the event will be held across the state for the next 25 weeks from August 15*
Raipur, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai grandly inaugurated the Chhattisgarh Silver Jubilee Festival from Muktakashi Manch located in Raipur on the occasion of Independence Day. This festival will start from August 15, 2025 and will be celebrated with joy and public participation throughout the state for 25 weeks till February 6, 2026.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that this festival is not just a government event but a festival of all of us, the people of the state, in which the active participation of people of every class, every society and every age group of the state is necessary. Calling for public participation, he said that if we all move forward with the dream and strong resolve of a developed Chhattisgarh and a developed India, then we will definitely reach our destination.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai, remembering former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, said that the formation of Chhattisgarh state was possible only through the efforts of Atal Ji. He said that in the last 25 years, the state has made remarkable progress and now the goal is to build a developed Chhattisgarh by the year 2047.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that during the Silver Jubilee Festival, traditional events like the popular ‘Bastar Olympics’ and ‘Bastar Pandum’ of the state will also be held, which will give new energy to local games and folk culture. This Silver Jubilee Festival, which will be celebrated with the spirit of public participation, respect for cultural heritage and development, will be recorded as a golden chapter in the history of the state.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that before the formation of the state, farmers did not get the right price for their produce. The government developed an ideal model of the Public Distribution System (PDS), through which lakhs of families are now benefiting from free food grains and no one sleeps hungry.
He said that currently paddy is being purchased at the rate of Rs 3,100 per quintal up to 21 quintals per acre. In the last two years, more than one lakh crore rupees have been directly transferred to the accounts of the farmers.
Chief Minister Sai said that after the formation of the state, prestigious institutions like IIT, IIM, IIIT and National Law University were established in Chhattisgarh. While mentioning economic development, he said that the state’s GSDP has increased from Rs 21 thousand crore to Rs 5 lakh crore, which is targeted to be taken to Rs 10 lakh crore in the next five years.
He said that after implementing the new industrial policy in new age industries like Pharma, Semiconductor, Textile, more than Rs 6 lakh crore has been attracted in investment so far.
*Organizing various programs for 25 weeks*
During the festival, various programs will be organized with the participation of various departments, social, business and cultural organizations of the state for the next 25 weeks. Chief Minister Shri Sai appealed to the public to participate in it with full enthusiasm.
*Release of special issue, logo and web portal*
At the inaugural program, the Silver Jubilee Festival special issue book was released, and the logo and web portal were also unveiled.
Secretary of the Department of Culture, Shri Rohit Yadav, in his welcome address, said that this is an opportunity to relive our history and take pride in our culture. He especially emphasized on ensuring the active participation of the poor, youth, common citizens and women in this festival. He said that the government has allocated one week each to all the departments, during which departmental activities will be organized up to the village level to make the public aware of government schemes.
On this occasion, MLAs Sarvashri Motilal Sahu, Guru Khushwant Saheb and Purandar Mishra, President of State Food Civil Supplies Corporation Shri Sanjay Srivastava, President of Chhattisgarh Sahitya Akademi Shri Shashank Sharma, President of Keshkala Board Sushri Mona Sen, President of Minority Commission Shri Amarjit Chhabra, District Panchayat President Raipur Shri Naveen Agarwal, Director of Culture Department Shri Vivek Acharya, Collector Shri Gaurav Kumar, officials and employees of Culture Department, dignitaries and school students were present in large numbers.
