Starting August 15, 2025, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) launched the FASTag Annual Pass. This pass is designed for use at around 1,150 toll plazas situated on select national highways and expressways (NE) across the country. The online booking and activation feature went live on August 15, allowing easy access for users. The initiative witnessed an impressive response right from the start.
By 7 PM on the first day, approximately 1.4 lakh users acquired and activated the Annual Pass, resulting in about 1.39 lakh recorded transactions at toll plazas. Additionally, it’s estimated that between 20,000 and 25,000 users are concurrently utilizing the Rajmargyatra app. Annual pass users are also benefiting from SMS notifications regarding zero deduction of toll charges.
To facilitate a hassle-free experience for FASTag Annual Pass holders, NHAI officials and nodal officers are stationed at each toll plaza. Furthermore, to provide prompt support for any concerns, the 1033 National Highway Helpline has been fortified with the addition of over 100 officers.
The FASTag Annual Pass is priced at Rs 3,000. This pass is valid for a year or up to a maximum of 200 trips, whichever occurs earlier. The pass can be conveniently purchased and activated via the NHAI official website or the Rajmargyatra mobile app.
This service is exclusively available for private vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans. Commercial vehicles are not eligible for this pass. With an entry rate of almost 98 percent and over 8 crore users, FASTag has significantly transformed the electronic toll collection system in India.
