A contestant, Vijay, shared his dream of winning prize money to buy his parents a house, prompting Bachchan to reflect on his own experiences.
Vijay shared that he took his parents to a restaurant after starting his job, encouraging them to order freely. This resonated deeply with Amitabh Bachchan.
Responding to Vijay’s story, Amitabh Bachchan shared a story about himself. He said, “The person you’re sitting in front of also once ate at a restaurant for the first time.” He recalled taking his parents to the famous Delhi restaurant ‘Moti Mahal’ after he began earning.
Bachchan described the anxiety he felt at the time. He said, “I was very scared. I thought, this is a big restaurant, only rich people go there. If we go, how will people look at us, what will our clothes be like? All these things run in the mind. So I can understand your situation.”
Additionally, Amitabh Bachchan recounted an interesting incident. He shared that his parents were with him during the filming of ‘Kabhi Kabhie’ in Srinagar. Director Yash Chopra, upon seeing them, requested them to act in a scene as Shashi Kapoor’s parents. They agreed and made a cameo appearance in the film.
