The preparations for the Dashakarma of the late Shibu Soren, former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, are in their final stages. The Santhali customary rites will be performed on August 15th, followed by a community feast (Sanskar Bhoj) on August 16th. Chief Minister Hemant Soren, along with family members, participated in the traditional ceremonies on Thursday to honor the departed soul. Discussions with Deepmani Soren, a senior family member, focused on the specifics of the Shraddha rituals.
The Sanskar Bhoj is expected to draw a large gathering of dignitaries from within the state and across India. Administrative preparations for the event are almost complete. Parking facilities for vehicles have been arranged at various locations, including Lukaiyatand. Three helipads are ready at Lukaiyatand, with an additional one constructed near the ancestral residence. Security will be reinforced by a strong contingent, including 10 IPS officers, 60 DSPs, 65 inspectors, and over 2500 police personnel. The district administration will maintain a heightened state of readiness to ensure law and order. Traffic management, emergency services, and crowd control will be handled by dedicated teams comprising police, administrative staff, and volunteers, working round-the-clock.

During his visit, Chief Minister Hemant Soren assessed the preparations for the Shraddha Karma of Dishom Guru Shibu Soren. He used an e-rickshaw to inspect the entire venue, paying close attention to the arrangements within each pandal. The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure sufficient provisions for public safety, hygiene, drinking water, parking, tents, seating, and sanitation. He also stressed the importance of a well-organized traffic system to avoid any inconvenience. The Deputy Commissioner, the Superintendent of Police, senior district officials, departmental officers, and residents of Nemra village were present during the inspection.
