How To Play Quordle?
For all the beginners, here’s a guide to playing Quordle: simply type words to begin. You need to guess four five-letter words and make nine attempts to find them all. The trick is that you must tap all four words simultaneously.
If, however, you correctly place a letter in any of the four words, it will turn green. If a word contains a letter from your guess but it’s in the wrong position, it will show up in yellow. Feel free to try out the practice games before tackling the daily puzzle.
Quordle History
Freddie Meyer created Quordle in 2022, drawing inspiration from Wordle and Dordle. Subsequently, Merriam-Webster acquired the game in January 2023.
In the early stages, engineer David Mah developed the prototype of Quordle. Later, Freddie Meyer took Mah’s prototype and made adjustments to the code.
He drew inspiration from Dordle, another variation of Wordle where players solve two grids simultaneously. Quordle was then launched in February 2022, and within just a few weeks, it quickly attracted one million players.
Merriam-Webster acquired Quordle in January 2023 for an undisclosed sum. Greg Barlow, the company’s president, said the game was “a favorite” among employees and added that it would be “a great addition” to the site’s game selection.
