Air India has received a warning from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) regarding violations of flight time regulations. The DGCA’s action follows the discovery of two Bangalore-London flights that exceeded the permissible 10-hour duty time limit. These flights, identified as AI133, operated on May 16 and 17, 2025. The flights violated the guidelines outlined in the Civil Aviation Requirement (CAR) Section 7, Series J, Part III, Issue III. The DGCA found Air India’s clarification for the extended flight durations to be unsatisfactory. The Accountable Manager of Air India was cited for non-compliance with operational provisions specified in the CARs. A Show Cause Notice was issued, and the airline’s response was deemed inadequate. The DGCA has instructed Air India’s management to exercise diligence and ensure compliance with aviation safety requirements.
