He claims that he was the victim of a scam related to Bigg Boss, implicating Priyanka Banerjee. Gupta alleges that he was deceived with false promises of securing a spot on the show.
Priyanka Banerjee, responding to these accusations, spoke exclusively with TV9 Hindi. She refuted Gupta’s claims, attributing them to a mere attempt to gain publicity. During the interview, Banerjee addressed several questions put forth by TV9 Hindi.
She clarified her relationship with Dr. Gupta, explaining that they met in Bhopal when she was organizing the Persona Mrs. India beauty pageant. Gupta, seeking recognition, was invited as a jury member for her pageant. She aided him with publicity and covered his expenses in connection to some auditions. She emphasized that neither she nor her team received any money from him.
Regarding Gupta’s claim of a meeting with Endemol and demands for money for a Bigg Boss entry, Banerjee explained that they were exploring sponsorship opportunities for the pageant with Endemol. Gupta, who had a strong interest in Bigg Boss, was included in the meeting out of friendship. She emphasized that the meeting focused solely on their brand and did not involve any discussions related to Bigg Boss. She denied any financial transactions or requests for money.
When asked if she considered Gupta’s actions a publicity stunt, Banerjee responded affirmatively, linking the timing to the commencement of casting for Bigg Boss. She mentioned that the public has also labeled his actions as a publicity stunt.
Speaking about the impact on her personal life, Banerjee, a single mother, highlighted the challenges. She is concerned about her son’s image and the potential repercussions on her custody. She also shared the immense stress and emotional strain she has been enduring.
Concerning legal action, Banerjee confirmed that she has filed a complaint and will be taking legal measures, seeing this as an attempt to tarnish her reputation. She stressed the importance of her honor, particularly as a divorced single mother in Indian society. She stated that if she doesn’t fight for her image, such incidents will continue. She believes in fighting for her rights.
Banerjee has avoided contact with Dr. Gupta since he started posting on social media and added that she will not forgive him.
