Tata Motors introduces the updated 2025 Harrier range with Adventure X and Adventure X Plus derivatives, designed to provide robust performance at a competitive price. This new offering is set to compete with the Hyundai Creta SX(O) diesel variant in the Indian automotive landscape. Both vehicles cater to customers seeking powerful diesel models without necessarily prioritizing luxury. This article will delve into the specifications, features, and pricing of the Harrier Adventure X and the Hyundai Creta SX(O) to facilitate a detailed comparison.
Regarding size, the Tata Harrier Adventure X surpasses the Hyundai Creta. The Harrier, with dimensions of 4,605 mm in length, 1,922 mm in width, and a 2,741 mm wheelbase, offers more spacious interiors compared to the Creta’s 4,330 mm length, 1,790 mm width, and 2,610 mm wheelbase.
The Harrier Adventure X features a 2.0-liter diesel engine, generating 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque. It is available with both 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions. The Creta SX(O) diesel is equipped with a 1.5-liter diesel engine, which delivers 116 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. This model also offers manual and automatic transmission options.
Both SUVs boast LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital driver display, six airbags, ISOFIX mounts, a 360-degree camera, and Level-2 ADAS safety features.
The Creta SX(O) includes superior features such as ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, an 8-way adjustable driver seat, wireless charging for phones, and a cooled glovebox, which are absent in the Harrier Adventure X. Tata responds with a broader road footprint, black leatherette trim with tan accents, and a 6-way adjustable driver seat.
In terms of pricing, the Harrier Adventure X is competitively priced. It starts at an ex-showroom price of Rs 18.99 lakh, slightly less than the Creta SX(O) diesel, which begins at Rs 19.05 lakh. However, the Creta holds an advantage in its automatic variant. The Creta’s diesel automatic version is priced at Rs 20 lakh, while the Harrier Adventure X automatic version is priced at Rs 20.69 lakh.
